About the Visual Leap and Jesse Berg
I am the founder of a unique company called The Visual Leap. Our mission is to improve efficiency, productivity and learning with proven "visual thinking" methods. Our goal is to simplify, accelerate and improve work. Our solutions do just that. We believe in visual thinking because we have experienced how visual thinking helps makes complex tasks easier.
We work with individuals and organizations, first determining the areas where visual learning strategies will yield maximum benefits, then implementing solutions through training and customization of visual thinking software.
My work with over a thousand individuals over twelve years at the K-12, university and corporate levels years has proved to me that this method improves productivity and achievement. Profound results suggest that visual thinking can have as dramatic an effect in any arena: K12 education, higher education, the workplace and even the home.
My professional experience in visual thinking draws largely from my experience as a classroom Computer Teacher and Technology Coordinator. In this position I developed a K-12 technology curriculum based in visual thinking, and saw how this approach improved achievement and learning.
My educational background includes Masters degree in Education (MEd) from Temple University and a Masters of Science degree in Instructional Technology (MSIT) from Philadelphia University. Prior to working as a Technology Coordinator and Computer Teacher, I worked at a major multinational insurance company in their technical communications division. In this role I worked extensively on their Intranet and online training programs. Before that, I was a high school Spanish Teacher.
Much of my teaching philosophy is rooted in principles emphasized in the Temple University Educational Masters Program at the time. My philosophy of training and teaching has become more refined through my experiences of teaching Spanish, training at the corporate level, and more recently developing a 21st century curriculum based in technology and communication.
